Text Work sample Year 6 Science: Mouldy bread

TLF ID A004073

This work sample demonstrates evidence of student learning in relation to aspects of the achievement standards for Year 6 Science. The primary purpose for the work sample is to demonstrate the standard, so the focus is on what is evident in the sample not how it was created. The sample is an authentic representation of student work and may contain errors such as spelling mistakes and other inaccuracies. In this work sample students: • explain how changes in physical conditions affect living things • describe how individuals and communities use scientific knowledge • plan safe, repeatable investigations to identify patterns and test relationships and make reasoned predictions • describe risks associated with investigations • identify variables to be changed, measured and controlled • use equipment to generate and record data with appropriate precision • construct representations to organise and process data and information and describe patterns, trends and relationships • select and use language features effectively for their purpose and audience when communicating their ideas and findings
